William (Bill) Dendy JD, MBA, CPA, CFP®, CLU, Founder of Alicorn Investment Management, has over 30 years of professional experience in investments and financial planning. He works with individual investors helping them coordinate the aspects of their financial lives, including tax planning, investments, insurance, financial planning and estate planning.
Bill has an MBA with a concentration in finance from Southern Methodist University, and holds the designations of Certified Public Accountant, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and Chartered Life Underwriter. Bill also earned his Juris Doctorate from SMU. He has taught classes in the Certified Financial Planner program at SMU and various investment seminars through local continuing education programs.
Bill began his financial career in 1992 with Shearson, Lehman, Hutton. In 1997, he joined the independent firm, Prospera Financial Services, serving as an “Advisor to the Advisor” in the role of Products and Services Director, while continuing to work with a select group of individual clients. From 2003 to 2021, Bill founded and grew Elite Financial Management, Inc. to include Texas offices in Houston, Dallas, Midland, and Tyler. Bill served as its President and Financial Consultant with Raymond James Financial Services.
Bill is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the State Bar Association, the Rotary Club of Dallas and American Mensa. He is featured regularly on Fox News radio and television news throughout the US. Bill is also an author of Wealth Management and Estate Preservation.
Bill believes in the importance of humanitarian service to mankind and has been very involved with Rotary International for over 20 years. Bill has served on the board of the Rotary Club of Dallas and the club’s foundation. He has served as the District Treasurer, District Governor, International Service Director and Interact Director. He currently serves as the district team leader of the Rotary Foundation. Bill has organized and hosted hundreds of Rotarians on international service trips. He has been recognized as District Rotarian of the year and has received the prestigious Service Above Self award from Rotary International.
Bill recently chose to move his family to Tyler, Texas. His wife, Lisa, is an attorney and committed Rotarian. His daughter is currently attending All Saints Episcopal School and his son is an undergraduate at UTD. For fun Bill enjoys travel, scuba diving and flying airplanes.
With the broad acceptance of technology due to the pandemic, Bill is able to offer financial advisory and counseling services beyond the traditional office environment throughout Texas.
